The examining board shall 5promulgate rules requiring 30 credit hours of continuing education to be taught, 6prepared, attended, or otherwise completed per 2-year period. The rules shall 7require that not less than 25 credit hours of instruction per 2-year period be in 8clinical dentistry or clinical medicine. Not The rules may not allow more than 4 of 9the 30 hours may per 2-year period to be from teaching. AB50,279110Section 2791. 448.035 (2) of the statutes is amended to read: AB50,1365,2311448.035 (2) Notwithstanding the requirements of s. 448.30, a physician or 12certified advanced practice nurse prescriber may provide expedited partner 13therapy if the patient is diagnosed as infected with a chlamydial infection, 14gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis and the patient has had sexual contact with a sexual 15partner during which the chlamydial infection, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis may 16have been transmitted to or from the sexual partner. The physician or certified 17advanced practice nurse prescriber shall attempt to obtain the name of the patient’s 18sexual partner. A prescription order for an antimicrobial drug prepared under this 19subsection shall include the name and address of the patient’s sexual partner, if 20known. If the physician or certified advanced practice nurse prescriber is unable to 21obtain the name of the patient’s sexual partner, the prescription order shall 22include, in ordinary bold-faced capital letters, the words, “expedited partner 23therapy” or the letters “EPT.” AB50,279224Section 2792. 448.035 (3) of the statutes is amended to read: AB50,1366,4

(b), a physician or certified 7advanced practice nurse prescriber is immune from civil liability for injury to or the 8death of a person who takes any antimicrobial drug if the antimicrobial drug is 9prescribed, dispensed, or furnished under this section and if expedited partner 10therapy is provided as specified under this section. AB50,1366,1411(b) The immunity under par. (a) does not extend to the donation, distribution, 12furnishing, or dispensing of an antimicrobial drug by a physician or certified 13advanced practice nurse prescriber whose act or omission involves reckless, 14wanton, or intentional misconduct. AB50,279415Section 2794. 448.07 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read: AB50,1367,516448.07 (1) (a) Every person licensed or certified under this subchapter shall 17register on or before November 1 of each odd-numbered year following issuance of 18the license or certificate with the board on or before his or her renewal date 19determined by the department under s. 440.08 (2). Registration shall be completed 20in such manner as the board shall designate and upon forms the board shall 21provide, except that registration with respect to a compact license shall be governed 22by the renewal provisions in s. 448.980 (7). The secretary of the board, on or before 23October 1 of each odd-numbered year, shall mail or cause to be mailed to every
1person required to register a registration form. The board shall furnish to each 2person registered under this section a certificate of registration, and the person 3shall display the registration certificate conspicuously in the office at all times. No 4person may exercise the rights or privileges conferred by any license or certificate 5granted by the board unless currently registered as required under this subsection.
