The rules shall 12include requirements that apply only to optometrists who are allowed to use topical 13ocular diagnostic pharmaceutical agents under s. 449.17 or who are allowed to use 14therapeutic pharmaceutical agents or remove foreign bodies from an eye or from an 15appendage to the eye under s. 449.18. AB50,28309Section 2830. 450.085 (1) of the statutes is amended to read: AB50,1377,2110450.085 (1) An applicant for renewal of a license under s. 450.08 (2) (a) shall 11submit proof that he or she has completed, within the 2-year period immediately 12preceding the date of his or her application, satisfied the applicable continuing 13education requirements established by the board under this subsection. The board 14shall require the completion of 30 hours of continuing education per 2-year period in 15courses conducted by a provider that is approved by the Accreditation Council for 16Pharmacy Education or in courses approved by the board. Courses specified in s. 17450.035 (1r) and (2) are courses in continuing education for purposes of this 18subsection. This subsection does not apply to an applicant for renewal of a license 19that expires on the first renewal date after the date on which the board initially 20granted the license The board shall, for up to a 2-year period, exempt new licensees 21from the requirements under this subsection. AB50,283122Section 2831. 450.11 (1g) (b) of the statutes is amended to read: AB50,1378,1323450.11 (1g) (b) A pharmacist may, upon the prescription order of a
1practitioner providing expedited partner therapy, as specified in s. 441.092, 2448.035, or 448.9725, that complies with the requirements of sub. (1), dispense an 3antimicrobial drug as a course of therapy for treatment of chlamydial infections, 4gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis to the practitioner’s patient or a person with whom 5the patient has had sexual contact for use by the person with whom the patient has 6had sexual contact. The pharmacist shall provide a consultation in accordance with 7rules promulgated by the board for the dispensing of a prescription to the person to 8whom the antimicrobial drug is dispensed. A pharmacist providing a consultation 9under this paragraph shall ask whether the person for whom the antimicrobial 10drug has been prescribed is allergic to the antimicrobial drug and advise that the 11person for whom the antimicrobial drug has been prescribed must discontinue use 12of the antimicrobial drug if the person is allergic to or develops signs of an allergic 13reaction to the antimicrobial drug. (1), deliver 19an opioid antagonist to a person specified in the prescription order and may, upon 20and in accordance with the standing order of an advanced practice registered nurse 21prescriber under s. 441.18 (2) (a) 2., of a physician under s. 448.037 (2) (a) 2., or of a 22physician assistant under s. 448.9727 (2) (a) 2. that complies with the requirements 23of sub. (1), deliver an opioid antagonist to an individual in accordance with the
1order. The pharmacist shall provide a consultation in accordance with rules 2promulgated by the board for the delivery of a prescription to the person to whom 3the opioid antagonist is delivered.
