2023 WISCONSIN ACT
An Act to amend 29.336 (2) (b) and 29.336 (2) (c) of the statutes; relating to: restrictions on baiting deer in counties based on chronic wasting disease or bovine tuberculosis.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
AB34,1Section 1. 29.336 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
29.336 (2) (b) A county in which a positive test for chronic wasting disease or bovine tuberculosis has been confirmed in any captive or free-roaming domestic or wild animal after December 31, 1997. A rule promulgated under this paragraph may not prohibit feeding deer for longer than 36 months after any positive test for chronic wasting disease or bovine tuberculosis has been confirmed.
AB34,2Section 2. 29.336 (2) (c) of the statutes is amended to read:
29.336 (2) (c) A county in which the county or a portion of the county is within a 10-mile radius of the known location of a captive or free-roaming domestic or wild animal that has been tested and confirmed to be positive for chronic wasting disease or bovine tuberculosis after December 31, 1997. A rule promulgated under this paragraph may not prohibit feeding deer for longer than 24 months after any positive test for chronic wasting disease or bovine tuberculosis has been confirmed.
