AR8,1,64Whereas, we honor Erin and Rubi, two precious and cherished members of the 5community who lost their lives at Abundant Life Christian School on December 16, 62024; and AR8,1,97Whereas, we keep in our hearts the six other members of the Abundant Life 8Christian School community who were injured that same day, including those who 9continue to recover; and AR8,2,1314
10Whereas, the entire Abundant Life Christian School community has suffered 11great loss and trauma as a result of the violent act committed on December 16, 122024, and requires ongoing support even while demonstrating great courage, 13resilience, and positivity; and

1Whereas, the loss of life in the Abundant Life Christian School tragedy has 2been felt not only across the State of Wisconsin, but across the nation and around 3the world; and AR8,3,54Whereas, schools in Wisconsin should be safe environments where all pupils 5can learn and flourish without fear of violence; and AR8,3,76Whereas, it is the duty of the State of Wisconsin to promote the safety, health, 7and wellbeing of its residents; and AR8,3,98Whereas, the State of Wisconsin will continue to pursue all practicable 9solutions for ending violence in all its communities; now, therefore, be it AR8,3,1210Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin State Assembly hereby 11commemorates the victims of the Abundant Life Christian School tragedy and 12sends its condolences to their families; and, be it further AR8,3,1513Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Assembly shows its enduring support for 14the students, staff, and families of the Abundant Life Christian School community 15and all other school communities impacted by violence; and, be it further AR8,3,1816Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Assembly condemns the senseless 17violence that claimed the lives of Rubi Vergara and Erin West on December 16, 182024, and permanently altered countless more; and, be it further AR8,3,2019Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Assembly calls on the people of 20Wisconsin to unite against all forms of violence.
