AJR55,1,52Whereas, Mental Health Awareness Month provides a meaningful
3opportunity to recognize the vital role mental well-being plays in the health of
4individuals, families, and communities across Wisconsin, to promote informed
5dialogue, and to address the stigma surrounding mental health; and
AJR55,1,86Whereas, mental health conditions affect one in five U.S. adults and one in six
7youth annually, touching the lives of Wisconsinites across every age group and
8region; and
AJR55,1,129Whereas, Wisconsin is facing a significant rise in youth mental health
10challenges, mirroring a nationwide 31 percent increase in emergency room visits
11related to mental health among young people in 2020, a concerning trend that has
12continued to grow in recent years; and
AJR55,2,213Whereas, in both rural and urban settings, access to professional mental

1health services across all 72 Wisconsin counties remains essential for meeting the
2mental health needs of Wisconsins population; and

4professionals and peer support networks empower individuals to manage mental
5health challenges and work toward a brighter, healthier future; and
