AJR47,1,42Whereas, healthy vision is essential to overall well-being and enables 3individuals to fully participate in daily activities, education, work, and recreation; 4and AJR47,1,75Whereas, millions of individuals worldwide experience vision impairment or 6blindness, many of which cases could be prevented or treated with proper 7awareness, early detection, and access to care; and AJR47,1,108Whereas, eye health conditions such as amblyopia, cataracts, glaucoma, 9macular degeneration, and refractive errors continue to affect individuals of all 10ages, underscoring the need for education and proactive measures; and AJR47,1,1311Whereas, the month of May provides an opportunity to raise public awareness 12about the importance of protecting eyesight, promoting regular eye exams, and 13supporting research and initiatives to improve eye health; and AJR47,2,214Whereas, organizations, health care professionals, and communities are
1committed to reducing vision loss through prevention, treatment, and advocacy 2efforts; now, therefore, be it AJR47,2,53Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin 4Legislature hereby proclaims May as Eye Health Awareness Month; and, be it 5further AJR47,2,96Resolved, That the Wisconsin Legislature encourages all residents to 7prioritize their eye health by scheduling regular eye exams, adopting protective 8measures such as wearing sunglasses, and learning about the risks and symptoms 9of eye conditions; and, be it further AJR47,2,1110Resolved, That the Wisconsin Legislature calls upon public and private 11entities to join in this observance by promoting education and providing resources.
