SR5,,112023 SENATE RESOLUTION 5 May 14, 2024 - Introduced by Senator Hesselbein. Referred to Committee on Senate Organization.
SR5,,22Relating to: revival of certain assembly bills for immediate senate consideration. SR5,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Senate rules provide that assembly proposals received by the senate for concurrence are adversely and finally disposed of upon failure of concurrence by the senate. Joint rules provide that any proposal passed by one house, but not concurred in by the other house by the close of the last general-business floorperiod, is adversely disposed of for the biennial session and is recorded in the senate journal as “failed to concur.”
This resolution revives five assembly bills that passed the assembly, but were not concurred in by the senate before the close of the last general-business floorperiod. The resolution requires further that the bills be taken up immediately by the senate for second reading and amendment upon adoption of this resolution.
SR5,,55Resolved by the senate, That notwithstanding senate rules 17 (1) and 46 (6) and joint rule 83 (4), 2023 Assembly Bills 51, 102, 129, 567, and 615 are hereby revived and shall be taken up immediately by the senate for second reading and amendment upon adoption of this resolution.
