January 26, 2024 - Introduced by Senator Feyen, cosponsored by Representatives Moses, Rozar, Macco, Wichgers, S. Johnson and Subeck. Referred to Committee on Insurance and Small Business.
SB963,,22An Act to repeal 146.905 of the statutes; relating to: reducing or eliminating coinsurance and deductibles for health care expenses.
SB963,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a health care provider is prohibited from reducing or eliminating, or offering to reduce or eliminate, coinsurance or a deductible of an individual covered under a health insurance policy that is required under the terms of the policy, unless paying the amount would be an undue financial hardship to the individual. This bill eliminates that prohibition.
SB963,,44The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SB963,15Section 1. 146.905 of the statutes is repealed.
