SB51,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Under current law, a court may annul a marriage if certain grounds are met, such as a party lacked the capacity to consent to the marriage, a party lacks the physical capacity to consummate the marriage, a party did not meet the legal requirements for marriage, or the marriage is otherwise prohibited by the laws of this state. This bill adds a new ground for annulment of a marriage if the parties have been married for less than one year and no pregnancy resulted from the marriage.
