Under this bill, no state agency and no local governmental unit may restrict the use or sale of a device based on the energy source that is used to power the device or that is consumed by the device.
SB213,,44The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SB213,15Section 1. 20.931 (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB213,,6620.931 (title) Prohibited boycotts governmental actions.
SB213,27Section 2. 20.931 (3) of the statutes is created to read:
SB213,,8820.931 (3) Prohibitions based on energy source. No state agency and no local governmental unit may restrict the use or sale of a device based on the energy source that is used to power the device or that is consumed by the device. Under this subsection, a device is powered by an energy source or consumes an energy source if any significant function of the device uses that energy source or consumes that energy source to accomplish the function.
