AJR5,,33Whereas, heart disease and stroke are responsible for over 20 percent of deaths in Wisconsin; and AJR5,,44Whereas, an estimated 80 percent of cardiovascular disease can be prevented; and AJR5,,55Whereas, increasing community awareness of the risks, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and lack of regular physical activity, can improve and focus prevention efforts in Wisconsin; and AJR5,,66Whereas, communities, health professionals, and families can work together to create opportunities for healthier lifestyles; and AJR5,,77Whereas, in addition to discussing smoking cessation if applicable, individuals should talk to their health care provider to learn about the following five numbers to better understand their risks for cardiovascular disease: AJR5,,881.
