AB830,,22An Act to amend 446.026 (1) (a); and to create 446.02 (7) (a) 3. of the statutes; relating to: delegation of adjunctive services by chiropractors. AB830,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Under current law, a licensed chiropractor may, under certain circumstances, delegate to chiropractic technicians or certain other health care professionals the performance of services that are preparatory or complementary to the practice of chiropractic, including taking and preparing preliminary patient histories or providing physiotherapy treatment. This bill allows licensed chiropractors to delegate the performance of these services to individuals who have completed a training program for medical assistants accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or another entity approved by the Chiropractic Examining Board.
AB830,,44The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: AB830,15Section 1. 446.02 (7) (a) 3. of the statutes is created to read: AB830,,66446.02 (7) (a) 3. An individual who has completed a training program for medical assistants accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or another entity approved by the examining board. AB830,27Section 2. 446.026 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read: AB830,,88446.026 (1) (a) No person may provide adjunctive services unless the person is a chiropractic technician or is described under s. 446.02 (7) (a) 3. and is under the direct, on-premises supervision of a chiropractor licensed under this chapter, or the person is a health care professional, subject to s. 446.02 (7). AB830,,1010(1) This act takes effect on the first day of the 4th month beginning after publication.
