AB1111,1,2 1An Act to create 103.08 of the statutes; relating to: informational posters
2regarding veterans benefits.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Workforce Development to consult with
the Department of Veterans Affairs to design an informational poster for benefits
and services available to veterans. The information on the poster must be in at least
English, Spanish, and Hmong. The bill requires DWD to make the poster available
to print from its website. Also under the bill, employers that are required to display
the poster must display it in a conspicuous place where notices to employees are
typically posted.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB1111,1 3Section 1. 103.08 of the statutes is created to read:
AB1111,1,5 4103.08 Veterans' benefits and services poster. (1) Definitions. In this
5section:
AB1111,1,66 (a) “Employer” has the meaning given in s. 103.10 (1) (c).

1(b) “Veteran” has the meaning given in s. 45.01 (12).
AB1111,2,5 2(2) Informational poster. (a) The department shall design a poster in
3consultation with the department of veterans affairs that provides information with
4respect to benefits and services available to veterans. The poster shall include at a
5minimum all of the following information:
AB1111,2,86 1. Contact information and the website for the department of veterans affairs
7and information about programs available through the department of veterans
8affairs.
AB1111,2,109 2. Contact information and the website for the U.S. department of veterans
10affairs.
AB1111,2,1111 3. The phone number for the U.S. department of veterans affairs crisis line.
AB1111,2,1312 4. Information regarding substance use disorder and mental health treatment
13services.
AB1111,2,1414 5. Educational, employment, and training resources.
AB1111,2,1515 6. Tax benefit availability.
AB1111,2,1616 7. Drivers' licenses and identification cards specifically for veterans.
AB1111,2,1717 8. Unemployment insurance benefits.
AB1111,2,1818 (b) The poster shall be written in at least English, Spanish, and Hmong.
AB1111,2,2019 (c) The department shall make the poster under this subsection available to
20employers to print from its website.
AB1111,2,23 21(3) Employer duties. Each employer shall post, in one or more conspicuous
22places where notices to employees are customarily posted, the poster created under
23sub. (2).
