AB1009,,22An Act to create 632.32 (6) (d) of the statutes; relating to: prohibiting motor vehicle insurance coverage for exposing a person to or infecting a person with an infectious disease. AB1009,,33Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau This bill prohibits motor vehicle insurance policies from insuring against liability for exposing a person to, or infecting a person with, an infectious disease while occupying a motor vehicle. Under the bill, “infectious disease” includes a sexually transmitted disease or communicable disease.
AB1009,,44The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: AB1009,15Section 1. 632.32 (6) (d) of the statutes is created to read: AB1009,,66632.32 (6) (d) No policy may insure against liability for exposing a person to, or infecting a person with, an infectious disease while occupying a motor vehicle. In this paragraph, “infectious disease” includes a sexually transmitted disease, as defined in s. 252.11 (1), or communicable disease, as defined in s. 990.01 (5g). AB1009,27Section 2. Initial applicability. AB1009,,88(1) This act first applies to a motor vehicle insurance policy that is issued or renewed on the effective date of this subsection. AB1009,,1010(1) This act takes effect on the first day of the 7th month beginning after publication.
