SJR80,1,43 Whereas, this year, an estimated 60,430 adults in the United States will be
4diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; and
SJR80,1,65 Whereas, it is estimated that 48,220 deaths from this disease will occur this
6year; and
SJR80,1,87 Whereas, pancreatic cancer is the eighth most common cancer in women and
8the tenth most common cancer in men; and
SJR80,1,109 Whereas, this year, it is estimated that there will be 890 deaths from pancreatic
10cancer in Wisconsin; and
SJR80,1,1211 Whereas, pancreatic cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer deaths in the
12United States and Wisconsin; and
SJR80,1,1513 Whereas, the good health and well-being of the residents of Wisconsin are
14enhanced as a direct result of increased awareness about pancreatic cancer and
15research in early detection, causes, and effective treatments; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin
2Legislature proclaims November 2021 to be Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
3and encourages all citizens to increase awareness of, education for, and services for
4pancreatic cancer in Wisconsin.
