SJR107,1,32 Whereas, heart disease and stroke are responsible for close to one-third of
3deaths in Wisconsin; and
SJR107,1,54 Whereas, an estimated 80 percent of cardiovascular disease can be prevented;
5and
SJR107,1,86 Whereas, increasing community awareness of the risks, such as diabetes, high
7blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and lack of regular physical activity, can
8improve and focus prevention efforts in Wisconsin; and
SJR107,1,109 Whereas, communities, health professionals, and families can work together to
10create opportunities for healthier lifestyles; and
SJR107,1,1311 Whereas, in addition to discussing smoking cessation if applicable, individuals
12should talk to their health care provider to learn about the following five numbers
13to better understand their risks for cardiovascular disease:
