1An Act relating to: funding for regional farm support agents, the University of
2Wisconsin System, technical colleges, and special education aid, and making an
3appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill increases the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer
Protection's authorized positions by 5.0 GPR positions to serve as regional farm
support agents within DATCP's Farm Center and increases funding for these
positions.
The bill also provides additional funding for the University of Wisconsin
System under its general program operations appropriation; for state aid to technical
colleges; and for special education aid the Department of Public Instruction pays to
school districts, independent charter schools, cooperative educational service
agencies, and county children with disabilities education boards.

Fiscal changes.

Regional farm support agents. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the
2appropriation to the department of agriculture, trade and consumer protection
3under s. 20.115 (3) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by
4$347,400 to increase the authorized FTE positions for the department by 5.0 GPR
5positions to serve as regional farm support agents within the department's Farm
6Center in the northeast, northwest, central, southeast, and southwest regions of the
7state. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of
8agriculture, trade and consumer protection under s. 20.115 (3) (a), the dollar amount
9for fiscal year 2022-23 is increased by $436,600 to provide funding for the positions
10authorized under this subsection.

Special education aid. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the
12appropriation to the department of public instruction under s. 20.255 (2) (b), the
13dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $220,000 and the dollar amount
14for fiscal year 2022-23 is increased by $275,000 to increase funding for aids for
15special education under s. 115.88.

18System under s. 20.285 (1) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased
19by $45,100 and the dollar amount for fiscal year 2022-23 is increased by $57,400 for
20the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
