Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources to prepare a report that
identifies opportunities for partnering with the private aquaculture industry for
increased stocking of desirable sport fish in lakes and streams. DNR must submit
its report to the legislature no later than January 31, 2022.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB617,1 3Section 1. Nonstatutory provisions.
SB617,2,24 (1) Aquaculture industry partnership opportunities. The department of
5natural resources shall prepare a report that identifies opportunities for partnering
6with the private aquaculture industry for increased stocking of desirable sport fish
7in lakes and streams. The department shall submit the report to the joint committee

1on finance and to the senate and assembly standing committees having jurisdiction
2over natural resources no later than January 31, 2022.
