SB406,1,1 1An Act relating to: grants for the relocation of coal piles in the city of Green Bay.

This bill requires the governor to allocate $5,000,000 of the funds accepted
under the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 for grants to Brown County and
the city of Green Bay for the purposes of relocating coal piles currently located near
the mouth of the Fox River in Green Bay and revitalizing the neighborhood from
which the coal piles are to be relocated.

printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB406,1 2Section 1 . Nonstatutory provisions.
SB406,2,53 (1) Coal pile relocation project. Of the moneys the governor accepts from the
4federal government under s. 16.54 pursuant to section 602 of the federal Social
5Security Act as amended by the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, P.L.
6117-2, the governor shall allocate $2,500,000 for a grant to Brown County and
7$2,500,000 for a grant to the city of Green Bay for the purposes of relocating coal piles

1currently located near the mouth of the Fox River in the city of Green Bay and
2revitalizing the neighborhood from which the coal piles are to be relocated. The
3governor shall require as a condition of the grants that any grant moneys awarded
4under this subsection not encumbered by August 31, 2022, shall be repaid to the
5state.
