AR22,1,1 1Relating to: honoring the life and public service of Representative Robert Goetsch.
AR22,1,32 Whereas, Representative Robert Goetsch passed away on June 22, 2021, in the
3town of Oak Grove, Wisconsin, at the age of 87; and
AR22,1,54 Whereas, Robert Goetsch was born on August 5, 1933, in his lifelong home of
5Oak Grove, Wisconsin; and
AR22,1,76 Whereas, he attended Beaver Dam High School and Wayland Junior College
7before graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Madison; and
AR22,1,98 Whereas, Robert Goetsch served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954–56;
9and
AR22,1,1210 Whereas, he served his community as Oak Grove Town Board supervisor from
111971–83 and chairman from 1975–83 and as a member of the Dodge County Board
12from 1972–84; and
AR22,2,213 Whereas, Representative Goetsch was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly
14in 1982 and served through 2001, working on various committees, including Ways

1and Means, Urban and Local Affairs, and Children and Families, as well as chairing
2the Criminal Justice Committee; and
AR22,2,43 Whereas, in addition to being a farmer, he was also an active member of the
4local Elks Club and the American Legion; and
AR22,2,85 Whereas, he is survived by his daughter Shana Goetsch, his adopted son Chad
6Goetsch, and five siblings and was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn H. Goetsch
7(née Koboski) in 1989, his younger sister Phyllis Goetsch, his mother Dorothy
8Goetsch, and his father Elmer Goetsch; now, therefore, be it
AR22,2,11 9Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin Assembly
10mourn the passing of Representative Robert Goetsch and commemorate his life and
11public service; and, be it further
AR22,2,13 12Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution
13to his family.
