2Wisconsin.
AR21,1,53 Whereas, Wisconsin employers have posted over 110,000 jobs on the state's
4labor market exchange, and are struggling to find employees to fill those positions;
5and
AR21,1,86 Whereas, Wisconsin is facing the disruptive effects of COVID-19 on the
7economy as well as a greater percentage of workers in Wisconsin approaching
8retirement; and
AR21,1,109 Whereas, Wisconsin employers understand that having access to a qualified
10and skilled workforce will help to grow Wisconsin's economy; and
AR21,1,1511 Whereas, Wisconsin initiatives like Wisconsin Fast Forward, Career and
12Technical Education Incentive Grants, and our state's Youth and Registered
13Apprenticeship Programs, in tandem with programming under the federal
14Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, help individuals enter the employment
15market and skill them up to maximize their work readiness; and

1Whereas, continuing to strengthen the connections between our educational
2systems and workforce programs on the local, state, and federal levels are key to
3ensuring future workforce development; now, therefore, be it
AR21,2,7 4Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin State Assembly recognizes the
5month of September 2021 as Workforce Development Month in Wisconsin to promote
6workforce development programs and acknowledge that workforce development is
7crucial in supporting economic growth for both employers and employees.
