AJR46,1,1 1Relating to: proclaiming April 2021 as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month.
AJR46,1,32 Whereas, Parkinson's disease is the fastest-growing neurological disorder in
3the world; and
AJR46,1,64 Whereas, the effects of Parkinson's disease touch the families, friends, and
5communities of approximately 20,000 Wisconsinites who suffer from Parkinson's
6disease; and
AJR46,1,87 Whereas, research has not been able to identify an exact source of the disease
8for many individuals suffering from the disease; and
AJR46,1,109 Whereas, Parkinson's disease has no known cure, and treatments are limited
10in their ability to address the medical needs of individuals with the disease; and
AJR46,1,1311 Whereas, volunteers, caregivers, medical practitioners, and researchers are
12working to advance the treatment of medical conditions associated with Parkinson's
13disease and to better understand how to prevent it; and
AJR46,1,1514 Whereas, additional education, awareness, and research on Parkinson's
15disease will improve the lives of many Wisconsinites; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
2Legislature proclaims April 2021 as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month
3throughout the state of Wisconsin.
