2and their families, and recognizing the heroic efforts of law enforcement and
3EMS who responded to the scene and medical professionals who cared for the
4victims.
AJR109,1,75 Whereas, on November 21, 2021, a beloved holiday tradition descended into
6horrific violence when a driver tore through the Waukesha Christmas Parade, killing
7six and injuring dozens more; and
AJR109,1,118 Whereas, the senseless attack claimed the lives of Tamara Carlson Durand,
9Virginia “Ginny” Sorenson, and LeAnna “Lee” Owen, all members of the Milwaukee
10Dancing Grannies, a group of women who shared their passion for dance with
11communities across southern Wisconsin; and
AJR109,1,1412 Whereas, also among the fallen was Wilhelm “Bill” Hospel, who was supporting
13his wife of 61 years, Lola, by handing out water to the Dancing Grannies on the
14parade route; and

1Whereas, Jane Kulich was struck and killed as she walked alongside the
2Citizens Bank float with her colleagues; and
AJR109,2,53 Whereas, the attack cut tragically short the life of eight-year-old Jackson
4Sparks, who marched in the parade with his brother and other members of his
5baseball team; and
AJR109,2,76 Whereas, at least 62 individuals suffered significant injuries from the attack;
7and
AJR109,2,98 Whereas, bystanders, law enforcement, and EMS responded to the scene
9quickly, acting swiftly to maintain order and attend to the injured; and
AJR109,2,1110 Whereas, medical professionals throughout the region collaborated to provide
11care for the scores of victims, many of whom were children; and
AJR109,2,1412 Whereas, communities affected by the attack have come together to support the
13families of those who died and those who continue their recovery from traumatic,
14life-threatening injuries; now, therefore, be it
AJR109,2,20 15Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
16Wisconsin Legislature honor the victims of the attack on the Waukesha Christmas
17Parade; extend their condolences to the families of those who died; express hope that
18each injured individual will have a complete recovery; and recognize the heroism of
19law enforcement and EMS who responded to the scene and medical professionals
20who cared for the victims.
