AB985,1,2 1An Act to create 20.932 of the statutes; relating to: inclusion of vaccination
2status on identification documents issued by the state or a local government.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under this bill, no state agency or local government may issue an identification
document to an individual that contains information concerning the individual's
immunity status with respect to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes
COVID-19, including whether the individual has received a vaccination against the
SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB985,1 3Section 1. 20.932 of the statutes is created to read:
AB985,1,5 420.932 Prohibiting vaccination information on identification. (1)
5Definitions. In this section:
AB985,2,26 (a) “Local governmental unit" means a political subdivision of this state, a
7special purpose district in this state, an agency or corporation of a political

1subdivision or special purpose district, or a combination or subunit of any of the
2foregoing.
AB985,2,73 (b) “State agency" means an office, department, agency, institution of higher
4education, association, society, or other body in state government that is created or
5authorized to be created by the constitution or any law and that is entitled to expend
6moneys appropriated by law, including the legislature, the courts, and an authority
7created in ch. 231 or 233.
AB985,2,12 8(2) Prohibition. No state agency or local governmental unit may issue an
9identification document to an individual that contains information concerning the
10individual's immunity status with respect to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus,
11including whether the individual has received a vaccination against the
12SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
