1An Act to create 323.225 of the statutes;
relating to: emergency power to
2regulate businesses.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill limits the use of emergency powers during emergencies. Under the
bill, no business may be declared essential or nonessential, and any action or
regulation of a business relating to an emergency must be applied to all businesses
uniformly without regard for the type of business or the product or service provided
by the business.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

4323.225 Prohibition against closing businesses. During an emergency
5declared under s. 323.10 or 323.11, no business may be declared essential or
6nonessential, and any action or regulation of a business relating to an emergency
1shall be applied to all businesses uniformly without regard for type of business or the
2product or service provided by the business.
