1An Act to create 49.46 (2) (bo) of the statutes;
relating to: dentists' services for
2pregnant persons under the Medical Assistance program.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services to ensure that a Medical
Assistance recipient who is pregnant has the opportunity to see a dentist within 60
days of being referred for dentists' services under the Medical Assistance program.
The Medical Assistance program is a joint state and federal program that provides
health services to individuals who have limited financial resources.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

(2) (bo) The department shall ensure that any Medical Assistance
5recipient that is referred by a health care provider for dentists' services under par.
6(b) 1. has the opportunity to be seen by the referred dentist no later than 60 days after
1the date of referral if the recipient is pregnant on the date of the referral or the
2recipient becomes pregnant prior to an appointment with the referred dentist.
