1An Act relating to: funding for state aid and grants to technical colleges, special
2education funding, and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill provides additional funding to the Technical College System for state
aid and grants to technical colleges.
The bill also provides additional funding for special education aid the
Department of Public Instruction pays to school districts, independent charter
schools, cooperative educational service agencies, and county children with
disabilities education boards, for purposes of maintaining compliance with
maintenance of effort requirements of the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act
and the federal American Rescue Plan Act.

State aid to technical colleges. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the
5appropriation to the technical college system board under s. 20.292 (1) (d), the dollar
1amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $15,750,000 to increase funding for
2state aid for technical colleges and the dollar amount for fiscal year 2022-23 is
3increased by $15,750,000 to increase funding for state aid for technical colleges.

Grants to district boards. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the
5appropriation to the technical college system board under s. 20.292 (1) (f), the dollar
6amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $9,750,000 to increase funding for the
7purpose for which the appropriation is made and the dollar amount for fiscal year
82022-23 is increased by $9,750,000 to increase funding for the purpose for which the
9appropriation is made.

11appropriation to the department of public instruction under s. 20.255 (2) (b), the
12dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $13,900,000 to increase funding
13for aids for special education under s. 115.88 and the dollar amount for fiscal year
142022-23 is increased by $13,900,000 to increase funding for aids for special
15education under s. 115.88.
