AB551,1,2 1An Act to create 601.41 (13) of the statutes; relating to: diabetes medication
2pilot project and granting rule-making authority.

This bill directs the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance to develop a pilot
project under which a pharmacy benefit manager and pharmaceutical manufacturer
are directed to create a value-based, sole-source arrangement to reduce the costs of
prescription diabetes medication. The bill allows OCI to promulgate rules to
implement the pilot project.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB551,1 3Section 1 . 601.41 (13) of the statutes is created to read:
AB551,2,24 601.41 (13) Value-based diabetes medication pilot project. The
5commissioner shall develop a pilot project to direct a pharmacy benefit manager, as
6defined in s. 632.865 (1) (c), and a pharmaceutical manufacturer to create a
7value-based, sole-source arrangement to reduce the costs of prescription medication

1used to treat diabetes. The commissioner may promulgate rules to implement this
2subsection.
