AB498,1,2 1An Act to amend 175.60 (1) (g) and 175.60 (3) (a) of the statutes; relating to:
2minimum age to be eligible for a license to carry a concealed weapon.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law generally prohibits an individual from carrying a concealed
weapon unless the individual has a license to carry a concealed weapon that is issued
by the Department of Justice. Under current law, DOJ may not issue a license to an
individual who is under the age of 21. This bill lowers the minimum age requirement
from 21 to 18.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB498,1 3Section 1. 175.60 (1) (g) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB498,1,64 175.60 (1) (g) “Out-of-state licensee" means an individual who is 21 18 years
5of age or over, who is not a Wisconsin resident, and who has been issued an
6out-of-state license.
AB498,2 7Section 2. 175.60 (3) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:

1175.60 (3) (a) The individual is less than 21 18 years of age.
