1An Act to create 250.04 (15) of the statutes;
relating to: coordinating a response
2to Alzheimer's disease and dementia, authorizing a coordinator position, and
3making an appropriation.

This bill requires the Department of Health Services to coordinate the state's
response to Alzheimer's disease and dementia issues and authorizes a position in
DHS to coordinate the state's response to Alzheimer's disease and dementia issues.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

(15) The department shall study and recommend ways, and coordinate
6initiatives, to improve the integration across state agencies of responses to
7Alzheimer's disease and dementia and monitor the performance of programs related
8to Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Alzheimer's disease and dementia coordinator. In the schedule under s.
320.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of health services under s. 20.435
4(1) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2021-22 is increased by $110,000 to study,
5recommend, coordinate, and monitor initiatives and programs that respond to
6Alzheimer's disease and dementia under s. 250.04 (15) and to increase the
7authorized FTE positions for the department by 1.0 GPR position for the purpose of
8coordinating the state's response to Alzheimer's disease and dementia under s.
9250.04 (15). In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the
10department of health services under s. 20.435 (1) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year
112022-23 is increased by $110,000 to study, recommend, coordinate, and monitor
12initiatives and programs that respond to Alzheimer's disease and dementia under
13s. 250.04 (15) and to provide funding for the position authorized under this
14subsection.
