SJR94,1,2 1Relating to: congratulating the Wisconsin Hospital Association on its 100th
2Anniversary and declaring March 18, 2020, Wisconsin Hospital Day.
SJR94,1,53 Whereas, the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) was formed on September
416, 1920, at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee “to promote the welfare of the people of
5the state” and be “of real value as a service organization to its members”; and
SJR94,1,86 Whereas, within six months of formation, advocacy was an immediate priority
7of WHA, with the organization taking positions on bills up for debate in that session
8of the Wisconsin State Legislature; and
SJR94,1,129 Whereas, today WHA is the unifying voice for Wisconsin hospitals and health
10systems, whose mission to advocate for the ability of its members to lead in the
11provision of high-quality, affordable, and accessible health care services has resulted
12in healthier Wisconsin communities; and
SJR94,2,213 Whereas, WHA's bipartisan work with the state legislature has allowed
14Wisconsin to take important steps to address this mission, including the passage and

1enactment of key legislation to enhance quality, build the health care workforce,
2improve access to care, and support the health of the state's population; and
SJR94,2,63 Whereas, the needs of Wisconsin's health care system, our citizens, and our
4employers have evolved greatly over the last 100 years, requiring close partnership
5between the Wisconsin Hospital Association, its members, and Wisconsin
6lawmakers; now, therefore, be it
SJR94,2,10 7Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That WHA's issue
8expertise and partnership with both sides of the aisle have helped advance sound
9health care policy that expands access to high-quality care in Wisconsin; and, be it

SJR94,2,15 11Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature recognizes the contributions
12made by over 100,000 people working in Wisconsin hospitals, the thousands of
13hospital advocates who have worked with their elected officials over the past 100
14years, and the work of the Wisconsin Hospital Association to improve access,
15affordability, and quality in Wisconsin health care; and, be it finally
SJR94,2,18 16Resolved, That the Wisconsin State Legislature congratulates the Wisconsin
17Hospital Association on its 100th Anniversary and proclaims March 18, 2020, as
18Wisconsin Hospital Day.
