SB299,1,2 1An Act relating to: increasing the number of authorized positions for the
2Department of Health Services and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill increases the authorized positions for the Department of Health
Services by one full-time position to provide for an advanced epidemiologist
dedicated to vector-borne diseases spread by mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects,
with a specific focus on Lyme disease, whose job duties will include raising awareness
and creating informational materials about Lyme disease and other vector-borne
diseases for the general public and for patients and potential patients of these
diseases.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB299,1 3Section 1. Fiscal changes.
SB299,2,94 (1) Advanced epidemiologist for vector-borne diseases. In the schedule
5under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of health services under
6s. 20.435 (1) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2019-20 is increased by $91,400 to

1increase the authorized FTE positions for the department by 1.0 GPR position for an
2advanced epidemiologist dedicated to vector-borne diseases spread by mosquitoes,
3ticks, and other insects, with a specific focus on Lyme disease, whose job duties will
4include raising awareness and creating informational materials about Lyme disease
5and other vector-borne diseases for the general public and for patients and potential
6patients of Lyme disease and other vector-borne diseases. In the schedule under s.
720.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of health services under s. 20.435
8(1) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2020-21 is increased by $91,400 to provide
9funding for the position authorized under this subsection.
