2Representative Richard “Dick” Matty.
AR15,1,43 Whereas, Richard Matty was born on September 16, 1932, in Menominee,
4Michigan, and passed away on April 21, 2019, in Peshtigo, Wisconsin; and
AR15,1,65 Whereas, Matty served his country in the U.S. Army and, later on, in the U.S.
6Air Force during the Korean War; and
AR15,1,97 Whereas, he represented his district in the Wisconsin State Assembly for eight
8terms between 1973 and 1987, and served on various committees and councils,
9including the Governor's Highway Safety Council; and
AR15,1,1110 Whereas, he also served as state tourism director and Marinette County
11coroner; and
AR15,1,1412 Whereas, he was committed to conservation, assuming leadership roles in the
13Northeastern Wisconsin Conservation Alliance and the Wisconsin Conservation
14Congress; and

1Whereas, he owned and operated Matty's Steak House for a quarter century;
2and
AR15,2,53 Whereas, he enriched his community through participation in the Amvets,
4VFW, Crivitz Lions Club, Crivitz American Legion, Crivitz Recreation Association,
5Troop 58, and St. Mary's Catholic parish; and
AR15,2,76 Whereas, he was beloved by his wife, Sandra, their seven children, and their
7many grandchildren and great grandchildren; now, therefore, be it
AR15,2,10 8Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin State
9Assembly honor the life and commemorate the contributions of former
10Representative Richard “Dick” Matty; and, be it further
AR15,2,12 11Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution
12to Richard's family.
