AJR90,1,42 Whereas, there are insufficient opportunities for school staff to participate in
3bullying prevention education and team building in schools throughout Wisconsin;
4and
AJR90,1,75 Whereas, there are few opportunities for students and parents to report
6concerns about bullying anonymously and to receive efficient follow-up on those
7concerns; and
AJR90,1,98 Whereas, there are few spaces for students to be a part of identifying issues and
9developing strategies and solutions to prevent bullying in school; and
AJR90,1,1110 Whereas, opportunities for students to be part of a replicable peer-leader
11program as an extracurricular option are lacking; and
AJR90,1,1412 Whereas, it is essential to create a flowchart for families to understand the
13steps that are implemented after suspected bullying has been reported, and whom
14to contact if these steps are not being followed; and

1Whereas, to promote positive peer relationships, all teachers should make and
2document two positive phone calls about peer relationships per student each year;
3and
AJR90,2,64 Whereas, the mental well-being of the students and staff would be best served
5by an increase in mental health services available to students and an increase in
6communication to families about bullying prevention; and
AJR90,2,87 Whereas, time should be specifically allotted for exploring team-building
8strategies for bullying prevention education; and
AJR90,2,119 Whereas, to increase communication, all K-8 classrooms should implement
10Second Step and use the family links letters and information to reinforce at home
11what is being taught in the classroom; and
AJR90,2,1412 Whereas, there should be an annual bullying prevention audit on the fidelity
13of Second Step and on the implementation in health curriculum of bullying
14requirements; now, therefore, be it
AJR90,2,18 15Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
16Legislature hereby recognizes October 2019 as Bullying Prevention Month and the
17third Wednesday of October 2019 as Unity Day Against Bulling, a day on which
18Wisconsin residents are encouraged to wear orange attire.
