AJR55,1,1 Relating to: recognizing June 2019 as National Homeownership Month.

AJR55,1,3 Whereas, in 1995, President Clinton began National Homeownership Week as a way to increase homeownership in the United States; and

AJR55,1,6 Whereas, in 2002, President George W. Bush expanded National Homeownership Week to the entire month of June, recognizing the importance of homeownership and the impact it has on communities; and

AJR55,1,9 Whereas, homeownership is a part of the American Dream and it is a priority of this body to make continued efforts to ensure homeownership is more attainable for residents and families all across Wisconsin; and

AJR55,1,11 Whereas, cutting government red tape and regulation and reducing taxes are integral to making homeownership a reality; and

AJR55,1,14 Whereas, continued efforts over the last eight years to keep property taxes in check has helped to make homeownership possible for thousands of Wisconsinites, and has helped families and the elderly to stay in the homes they love; and

AJR55,2,3 Whereas, because of the lowest tax burden in 50 years, hard-working Wisconsinites can keep more money in their pockets and keep the dream of home ownership alive; and

AJR55,2,7 Whereas, with historic investments in K-12 education, as well as investments in workforce development, and sound fiscal management of our state budget, Wisconsin continues to be a great place to live, work, raise a family, and own a home; and

AJR55,2,10 Whereas, during this month, we would also like to recognize those who help to make homeownership possible, such as realtors, financial counselors, builders, and others; now, therefore, be it

AJR55,2,13 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin Legislature hereby recognizes June 2019 as National Homeownership Month in Wisconsin.
