AJR42,1,2 Relating to: recognizing May 6 through May 10, 2019, as Teacher Appreciation Week.

AJR42,1,5 Whereas, for generations, Wisconsin teachers have maintained a strong tradition of excellence in educating students and preparing them for college, careers, and their futures; and

AJR42,1,8 Whereas, teachers have made incalculable positive impacts on our children, spending their own time and money preparing lessons, grading assignments, and ensuring their classrooms have what is necessary to learn effectively; and

AJR42,1,10 Whereas, they display this sacrifice and deep commitment in order to maintain high levels of understanding, integrity, and performance; and

AJR42,1,12 Whereas, teachers serve many roles for our students, not only as educators but also as role models, mentors, coaches, and counselors; and

AJR42,1,15 Whereas, their success is vital to the economic and cultural development of our state, teaching job skills, creating leaders, and ensuring that our workforce and citizens have the tools they need to succeed; and

AJR42,2,3 Whereas, teachers also contribute to the survival of democracy by strengthening communities and families and providing the base for informed and educated citizens; and

AJR42,2,6 Whereas, Wisconsin must recognize the contributions of teachers with gratitude and respect, as they strive to maintain and improve the condition of education in our great state; now, therefore, be it

AJR42,2,9 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin Legislature joins families, students, and education colleagues in recognizing May 6 through May 10, 2019, as Teacher Appreciation Week.
