AJR18,1,43 Whereas, April is recognized nationally as Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention
4Month; and
AJR18,1,65 Whereas, safe, stable, and nurturing relationships are essential to ensure that
6children reach their full potential and to prevent child maltreatment; and
AJR18,1,97 Whereas, the toxic stress produced by child abuse and neglect is a significant
8public health problem with lasting and damaging effects on children's psychological,
9physical, and social health into adulthood; and
AJR18,1,1410 Whereas, building family protective factors, including parental resilience,
11knowledge of parenting and child development, social and emotional competence of
12children, concrete supports in times of need, and social connections, promotes the
13optimal development of children while reducing the likelihood of child
14maltreatment; and

AJR18,2,8 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
4Legislature proclaims April as Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month in
5Wisconsin and calls upon all citizens, government and community agencies, religious
6and civic institutions, health care organizations, and businesses to make a difference
7in the lives of Wisconsin children by working together to strengthen families and the
8communities in which they live.
