Whereas, Ralph Tenuta was born on May 26, 1932, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and
4passed away on January 15, 2020, in Kenosha County; and

Whereas, Tenuta worked with his father to open the iconic Tenuta's
6Delicatessen and Grocery Store in Kenosha on September 1, 1950, which continues
7to operate to this day; and

Whereas, Tenuta employed and mentored hundreds of young employees from
9the Kenosha area at his business, many of whom were serving in their first jobs; and

Whereas, he was a pillar of Kenosha and, as such, was deeply involved in his
11community to ensure that it continues to be a great place to live; and

Whereas, he was a charter member of the Kenosha Boys and Girls Club,
13Kenosha Rotary West, and the 52nd Street Businessmen's Association; and

Whereas, he helped establish the American State Bank, served as its board
15chairman, and also sat on the Wisconsin Banking Review Board for two decades; and

1Whereas, he played an integral role in creating the University of Wisconsin –
2Parkside, served as the president of its Benevolent Foundation, and received the
3University of Wisconsin – Parkside Lifetime Recognition Award; and

Whereas, he was a trustee of Carthage College and received the Carthage
5Flame Award in 2006; and

Whereas, he was beloved by his late wife, Margaret, their seven children, and
7their many grandchildren; now, therefore, be it

8Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
9Wisconsin State Legislature honor the life and commemorate the contributions of
10Ralph Tenuta; and, be it further
