AJR121,1,3 Relating to: congratulating the University of Wisconsin-Madison Badgers football team on a great season and winning the Big Ten West Division game against the Minnesota Gophers.

AJR121,1,6 Whereas, the Wisconsin Badgers overcame tough conditions with heavy rain, sleet, and snow to win a 38 to 17 victory against their rival team, the Minnesota Gophers; and

AJR121,1,8 Whereas, the Wisconsin Badgers won the Big Ten West Division game and qualified for the Big Ten title game against the Ohio State Buckeyes; and

AJR121,1,10 Whereas, the Wisconsin Badgers won back Paul Bunyan's Axe from the Minnesota Gophers; and

AJR121,1,12 Whereas, the Wisconsin Badgers will advance to compete in their sixth title game, the most of any program in the conference; and

AJR121,1,15 Whereas, the dedicated and hardworking coaches, including Head Coach Paul Chryst, athletes, trainers, assistants, analysts, and directors all worked together to lead the team to victory; and

AJR121,2,3 Whereas, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez and the entire athletic department team have continued to lead the Wisconsin Badgers with a standard of excellence year after year; and

AJR121,2,6 Whereas, the entire state of Wisconsin takes pride in the integrity, leadership, and superior athleticism and sportsmanship the Badgers have demonstrated this season; now, therefore, be it

AJR121,2,10 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin State Legislature commends the Wisconsin Badgers football team for its achievements this season and wishes them luck and success in their postseason endeavors.
