AJR104,1,43 Whereas, this year, an estimated 56,770 adults in the United States will be
4diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; and
AJR104,1,65 Whereas, it is estimated that 45,750 deaths from this disease will occur this
6year; and
AJR104,1,87 Whereas, pancreatic cancer is the ninth most common cancer in women and the
8tenth most common cancer in men; and
AJR104,1,109 Whereas, this year, it is estimated that there will be 1,130 new cases of
10pancreatic cancer in Wisconsin; and
AJR104,1,1211 Whereas, pancreatic cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer deaths in the
12United States and Wisconsin; and
AJR104,2,213 Whereas, the good health and well-being of the residents of the state of
14Wisconsin are enhanced as a direct result of increased awareness about pancreatic

1cancer and research into early detection, causes, and effective treatments; now,
2therefore, be it
AJR104,2,6 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
4Legislature proclaims November 2019 to be Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
5and encourages all citizens to increase awareness of, education for, and services for
6pancreatic cancer in Wisconsin.
