1An Act to amend 93.40 (1) (g) of the statutes;
relating to: grants to dairy
2processing plants and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under this bill, in awarding grants to dairy processing plants, the Department
of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection must give preference to small dairy
processing plants. Under current law, DATCP promotes the growth of the dairy
industry through research, planning, and assistance by making grants to persons
operating dairy processing plants and making grants and loans to dairy producers.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 93.40 (1) (g) of the statutes is amended to read:

In awarding grants to persons operating

Dairy processor grants. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the
5appropriation to the department of agriculture, trade and consumer protection
6under s. 20.115 (4) (dm), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2019-20 is increased by
7$600,000 for the purpose for which the appropriation is made. In the schedule under
8s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department of agriculture, trade and
9consumer protection under s. 20.115 (4) (dm), the dollar amount for fiscal year
102020-21 is increased by $600,000 for the purpose for which the appropriation is
11made.
