Medical assistance coverage of nonsurgical treatment for TMJ disorder
Under current law, the Medical Assistance program provides coverage for certain dental services. Under this bill, this coverage includes nonsurgical treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder, commonly known as “TMJ disorder.” The Medical Assistance program is a joint state and federal program that provides health services to individuals who have limited financial resources.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. 49.46 (2) (b) 1. j. of the statutes is created to read:
49.46 (2) (b) 1. j. Nonsurgical treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder.
Section 2. DHS 107.07 (4) (k) 2. of the administrative code is repealed.
