ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 134

AB134-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB134-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 3: after “126” insert “and the public records exception for election officials”.

AB134-AA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB134-AA1,1,6 “Section 1m. 19.36 (14) of the statutes, as created by 2023 Wisconsin Act 126, is amended to read:

AB134-AA1,2,5 19.36 (14) Identities of election officials or election registration officials county and municipal clerks. Unless access is specifically authorized or required by statute, an authority shall not provide access under s. 19.35 (1) to records containing the personally identifiable information of an election official, as defined in s. 5.02 (4e), or an election registration official, as defined in s. 5.02 (4g) a current or former county clerk or executive director of a county board of election commissioners or municipal clerk or executive director of a municipal board of election commissioners who submits a written request to the authority requesting that the information be kept confidential, except that an authority may provide access to the name of an election official or election registration such current or former official and the city and state where the official resides.”.

AB134-AA1,2,8 “Section 3. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows:

AB134-AA1,2,10 (1) The treatment of s. 19.36 (14) takes effect on July 1, 2025, or on the day after publication, whichever is later.”.
