AB301-ASA1,1,2 1An Act relating to: loan to the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitor
2Bureau for the construction of a visitor information and education center.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Building Commission to award an interest-free loan in
the amount of $2,000,000 to the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitor Bureau
to assist in the construction of a visitor information and education center located in
Brown County. The bill requires the governor to allocate $2,000,000 of the funds
accepted under the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 for the loan.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB301-ASA1,1,44 (1) Loan for a visitor education and information center.
AB301-ASA1,2,45 (a) The legislature finds and determines that the tourism industry is of vital
6importance in creating jobs and contributing to economic development and tourism

1in this state and is a statewide responsibility of statewide dimension. It is therefore
2in the public interest, and it is the public policy of this state, to assist the Greater
3Green Bay Convention and Visitor Bureau in the construction of a visitor
4information and education center in Brown County.
AB301-ASA1,2,95 (b) In the 2021-23 fiscal biennium, from the moneys allocated under par. (c),
6the building commission shall award a loan in the amount of $2,000,000 to the
7Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitor Bureau for the purpose of assisting the
8project specified in par. (a). The term of the loan may not exceed 20 years from the
9date of issuance and interest shall not accrue.
AB301-ASA1,2,1310 (c) Of the moneys the governor accepts from the federal government under s.
1116.54 pursuant to section 602 of the federal Social Security Act as amended by the
12federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, P.L. 117-2, the governor shall allocate
13$2,000,000 for the loan under par. (b ).
