ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 459

AB459-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB459-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 4: delete that line and substitute “standards, requiring cursive writing in elementary grades, and making an appropriation.”.

AB459-AA1,1,4 2. Page 1, line 5: before that line insert:

AB459-AA1,1,5 “ Section 1a. 20.255 (2) (fw) of the statutes is created to read:

AB459-AA1,1,7 20.255 (2) (fw) Cursive writing requirements; reimbursement. A sum sufficient to make payments under s. 115.28 (57).”.

AB459-AA1,1,8 3. Page 2, line 2: after that line insert:

AB459-AA1,1,9 “ Section 1m. 115.28 (57) of the statutes is created to read:

AB459-AA1,1,12 115.28 (57) Cursive writing requirements; reimbursement. From the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (fw), annually make payments to reimburse all of the following:

AB459-AA1,2,2 (a) School boards for the cost of implementing the requirement under s. 121.02 (1) (k) 4. in the previous school year.

AB459-AA1,2,5 (b) Governing bodies of private schools participating in a program under s. 118.60 or 119.23 for the cost of implementing the requirement under s. 118.60 (2) (a) 9. or 119.23 (2) (a) 9., whichever is applicable, in the previous school year.

AB459-AA1,2,8 (c) Operators of charter schools authorized under s. 118.40 (2r) or (2x) for the cost of implementing the requirement under s. 118.40 (2r) (b) 2. L. or 118.40 (2x) (b) 2. L., whichever is applicable, in the previous school year.”.

AB459-AA1,2,11 “ Section 2m. 118.40 (2r) (e) 2p. a. of the statutes, as affected by 2019 Wisconsin Act 83, is amended to read:

AB459-AA1,2,17 118.40 (2r) (e) 2p. a. Add the amounts appropriated in the current fiscal year under s. 20.255 (2), except s. 20.255 (2) (ac), (aw), (az), (bb), (dj), (du), (fm), (fp), (fq), (fr), (fu), (fw), (k), and (m); and s. 20.505 (4) (es); and the amount, as determined by the secretary of administration, of the appropriation under s. 20.505 (4) (s) allocated for payments to telecommunications providers under contracts with school districts and cooperative educational service agencies under s. 16.971 (13).”.
