ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 285

AB285-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB285-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 2: delete “improvements." and substitute “improvements and value of work estimates.".

AB285-AA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 20: after “competent" insert “and responsible".

AB285-AA1,1,6 3. Page 2, line 23: delete the material beginning with “Notwithstanding" and ending with “award.” on page 3, line 2, and substitute:

AB285-AA1,1,11 “If the department determines that readvertising the contract for bids will adversely affect public safety or project cost or project schedule, the department may award the contract to the sole bidder. The department shall submit to the joint committee on finance quarterly reports listing any bids rejected or contracts awarded under this paragraph.

AB285-AA1,2m Section 2m. 84.06 (2) (d) of the statutes is created to read:

AB285-AA1,2,6 84.06 (2) (d) The department shall review and document updated reasonable value of work estimates, as determined by the department, within 2 weeks prior to the date on which bids must be submitted to the department. In determining if a bid exceeds the estimate under par. (c), the department shall also consider any addendums affecting project cost that were issued prior to the date on which bids must be submitted to the department.”.
