2023 WISCONSIN ACT 241
An Act to repeal 20.455 (5) (c); and to create 20.455 (5) (c) of the statutes; relating to: sexual assault victim services grants, child advocacy grants, and domestic abuse grants and making an appropriation.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
241,1Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: 241,2Section 2. 20.455 (5) (c) of the statutes is created to read: 20.455 (5) (c) Crime victim grants. Biennially, the amounts in the schedule for the grants under 2023 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 4.
241,3Section 3. 20.455 (5) (c) of the statutes, as created by 2023 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), is repealed. 241,4Section 4. Nonstatutory provisions. (1) Sexual assault victim services grants. Of the moneys appropriated under s. 20.455 (5) (c), in the 2023-25 fiscal biennium the department of justice shall allocate $6,400,000 to provide sexual assault victim services grants under s. 165.93 (2).
(2) Domestic abuse grants. Of the moneys appropriated under s. 20.455 (5) (c), in the 2023-25 fiscal biennium the department of justice shall allocate $2,400,000 to provide domestic abuse grants under s. 49.165.
(3) Child advocacy grants. Of the moneys appropriated under s. 20.455 (5) (c), in the 2023-25 fiscal biennium the department of justice shall allocate $1,200,000 to provide child advocacy grants under s. 165.96.
241,5Section 5. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows: (1) The repeal of s. 20.455 (5) (c) takes effect on June 30, 2025.
