On March 17, 2017, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse.
The scope statement for this rule, SS 084-16, was approved by the Governor on September 13, 2016, published in Register No. 729B on September 26, 2016, and approved by the Secretary of Revenue on October 14, 2016.
Analysis
The proposed rule makes changes to the penalty for failure to produce records in Chapters Tax 2 and 11 to reflect current law and current department policy.
Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing on the proposed rule is required and will be scheduled.
The Office of the Secretary is primarily responsible for the promulgation of the proposed rule.
