NOTICE OF SUBMITTAL OF RULES TO LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL RULES CLEARINGHOUSE

School District Standards

On January 25, 2016, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse.

The scope statement for this rule, SS 139-15, was published in Register No. 720A3, on December 21, 2015, and approved by State Superintendent Tony Evers on January 5, 2016. Pursuant to Coyne v. Walker, the Department of Public Instruction is not required to obtain the Governor’s approval for the statement of scope for this rule. Coyne v. Walker, No. 2013AP416, 2015 WL 686178 (Wis. Ct. App. Feb. 19, 2015).

The proposed rule amends ch. PI 8, relating to standards for school district instructional design and programs.

Public hearings will be scheduled as required under s. 227.16 (1), Stats.
