AJR94,1,32 Whereas, Robert P. Kordus was born on August 1, 1939, and died on May 23,
32017; and
AJR94,1,54 Whereas, Robert P. Kordus was educated at St. Helen Elementary School and
5Pulaski High School in Milwaukee; and
AJR94,1,76 Whereas, Robert P. Kordus received an associate degree from Milwaukee
7Institute of Technology in 1959; and
AJR94,1,98 Whereas, Robert P. Kordus married Caroll Swiatek and worked as a cost
9accountant and business manager; and
AJR94,1,1110 Whereas, Robert P. Kordus was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1964 from
11Milwaukee's 14th Assembly District, and was reelected in 1966; and
AJR94,1,1412 Whereas, during his tenure in the assembly, Kordus served on the Committee
13on Veterans' and Military Affairs, the Committee on Labor, and the Legislative
14Council's Elections Committee; and
1Whereas, throughout his tenure in the legislature, Robert Kordus showed an
2interest in veterans affairs and the structure of government; and
AJR94,2,43 Whereas, Robert Kordus was elected to the Milwaukee Common Council from
4the 14th Ward in 1968, serving as alderman until 1976; and
AJR94,2,65 Whereas, in addition to his public service, Robert Kordus worked at Wisconsin
6Electric for many years; now, therefore, be it
AJR94,2,9 7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature
8salutes the life and public service of Robert P. Kordus and mourns his passing; and,
9be it further
AJR94,2,12 10Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
11resolution to Robert P. Kordus's wife, Caroll, and his children, Robert, Jr., Peter,
12Karen, Jan, and Kris.
